How to update your charger’s software with the myWallbox app?

Keeping your charger’s software up to date is essential to enjoy a stable experience and benefit from your charger’s latest functionalities. Eventual chargers’ related bugs are also solved through software updates.

Before starting, please ensure you have downloaded the latest version of the myWallbox app on your phone by checking your App Store or Play Store.

In the Release notes section, you can check each charger’s software’s last released version.

Updating a charger remotely (requires charger Internet connection)

To update a charger remotely, it must be connected to the Internet. Follow the steps below to perform a remote update:

Ensure the EV gun is not plugged into the car when updating your charger, as this might disorder session registration and interfere with the update process.

  1. Open the myWallbox app and log in.
  2. Once logged in, select your charger from the list.
  3. Wait until the Wi-Fi connection is established between the app and your charger.
  4. If an update is available, a pop-up will appear. Tap “Check now“.
  5. Once on the update screen, tap “Install update“.
  6. The update process starts. You can leave or exit the page since it won’t interrupt the update.
  7. Once the update is completed, a message will display stating the new software version.

If you decide to install the update later, an update panel will remain on the app charger screen, allowing you to install the update anytime.

Updating a charger offline via Bluetooth

Suppose no internet connection is available or your charger doesn’t support an Internet connection (Pulsar). In that case, you can update your charger offline by connecting your smartphone to your charger by Bluetooth – staying in your charger’s Bluetooth range – and following the steps below:

Ensure the EV gun is not plugged into the car when updating your charger, as this might disorder session registration and interfere with the update process.

  1. Open the myWallbox app and log in.
  2. Once logged in, select your charger from the list.
  3. Stay in the Bluetooth range of your charger during the whole process.
  4. Wait until the Bluetooth connection is established between the app and your charger.
  5. If an update is available, a pop-up will appear. Tap “Check now“.
  6. Once on the update screen, tap “Install update“.
  7. The update process starts.
  8. Once the update is completed, a message will display stating the new software version.

The offline update feature is only available after a given software release, which depends on the charger model:

If you are performing the update offline, do not leave the update screen or close the app, as this will interrupt the update process and might damage your charger.
